I have the 12.9 inch iPad Pro and I’ve had it since launch. it just works for me as a companion to My iMac over a MacBook Pro. My only gripe has been getting a decent case that i can use it with. I knew a lot of you guys raved about the magic keyboard but I couldn’t justify the cost. I splurged a bit this week and I got it and now I totally get it. Yes its stupidly expensive but its so good. Totally changed the way i use my iPad. Here’s the “but” now, and I know some of you may find this silly. How the hell do you open the damn thing. I knew it was a pain to open one handed anyway from all the YouTube videos but I’m having issues opening it two handed! Literally using my finger nails to pry it open.
Also most of you have had this for 6 months now. Is there anything you know now that you wished you knew when you got it?

thanks in advance.

I set the MK on its spine and open it up with two hands. I've found that the most effective for myself.

Having it when it first came out, I wish I knew how delicate it was and how prone it was to dents and scratches.

I plan on using it to the point where I would need to use AppleCare on it haha

Using two hands, I place each of my middle finger on each sides of the ipad, and then using both of each thumb to hold the lower part of the keyboard case while lifting up the ipad with both middle fingers until the opening is wide enough to open normally. Hope you get that lol.
But since I use coverbuddy case, I just easily open the lid by picking up the pencil slot.

Same like above poster, it would gave me a long pause to (eventually) purchase the MKB if I knew the thing is not durable, picks up dust and grits like a vacuum.

Down south
To open mine, I hold it up with the side that opens toward me, put one thumb on the ipad, and the other on the keyboard, and pull apart. Obviously I couldn’t have both hands on it while taking the picture, but I hope this helps it make sense.

As far as durability, I have had no issues. Mine looks great with the exception of a few kind of greasy looking spots that I haven’t tried cleaning. My only gripe is just that it is hard to clean stuff like that off. I don’t really have an issue with a lot of dust or anything like that, but I am pretty careful with my stuff, and don’t use it in places where it’s likely to get dirty. I also rarely take my iPad with me unless I’m traveling. It’s usually just sitting on my desk or table.
