I have been using Typora for a while and it's OK, but it didn't have automatic syncing (I use Resilio Sync for that) and search is just plain horrible. Search in particular was the reason I started to look for something else. I would have used Apple Notes if it supported Markdown and syntax highlighting.

Anyway, I discovered https://getupnote.com/ and I am loving it now:

- Full Markdown editor
- Syncing
- Cross platform
- Syntax highlighting
- Backups
- Good search functionality
- Organization with both notebooks and tags
- Linking between notes
- Web clipper browser extension (to save articles etc in your notes! So I no longer need InstaPaper for that)
- Nice UI
- Note locking with a password
- Export to PDF
- Can share a note with a weblink

and it costs just 17.99 one time purchase, no subscription (if you want the subscription it's just 0.99/mo). How is it possible that I have never seen this mentioned before? I found it by chance after checking lots of comparisons from Google.

Which note taking app are you using?

hm says 24,99 and can one use the pencil?

That's weird, when I bought it it was 17.99 euros, which is not 24 usd. Dunno, I can no longer see the price on my Mac App Store.

Dunno if you can use the pencil as I don't have one.
