Hey guys 😄

I have a macbook pro m4 max 14 inch

and im looking for a decent tb4 docking station

but it has to be 2 important features for me

ethernet port , tb4 ports for at least 120hz monitor connectivity

p.s : tb to display port

Yes. They are expensive, but that's because they support Thunderbolt. If you only need to connect an ethernet cable and a monitor, maybe you don't need a dock. Or, save some money and skip the thunderbolt dock. Connect the display with HDMI or a USB-C connection that's not Thunderbolt.

I don't know if the video out ports on this one offer 120hz.

But the price is at your budget level, and it has a nice complement of ports.

We use CalDigit docks in our office exclusively. Been using them since the TS3. Still have a few of those milling around, mostly TS4s and now have our first TS5. All have been rock solid.

Yes, they are pricey. Buy once, cry once and enjoy a flawless experience.

These will randomly go on sale for $80 and they are a steal when they do: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPT8Q8TF

I have 2.
- One drives 2 4k60Hz displays in my office, the other a 2.5k120Hz at home.
- 120Hz works via both the HDMI 2.1 Port and the two downstream TB 4 ports.
- 96W USB PD.
- Ethernet is 2.5Gbps though not a chipset to get excited about.

Both get used daily and both have been rock solid and immediately connect. I've only had 1 issue where it wouldn't connect but it turned out to be my Mac needing to reboot, not the dock. At work it actually works more consistently than trying to connect the 2 displays directly to the MacBook...

I have a Caldigit TS3+ (got a killer deal @ $212 back in 2020). It is still going strong and does fine @TB3 speeds with DP connected 27" 4k display.
