I need a live video viewer app that doesn't mirror flip the image like Photobooth. It seems most live video viewer apps mirror flip the image for expected use with a webcam. I bought a cheap USB microscope camera that is class compliant and expects you to provide your own live viewer app. (I knew it was cheap too. All good with that at this stage.)

I can't seem to find anything that isn't meant for webcam use and thus mirror flips the image though.

Looking for real basic and free.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Notes:
Disabling the "auto flip new items" feature in Photobooth does not apply to incoming video. It only works with still pictures and then after the fact.

Then I looked for something to mirror flip the Mac display as a workaround. Nope. Everything I found only works with static images. (Takes a screen shot and then flips that rather than flipping the real time video.)

Then all the freebe video processing apps I see are made to process already recorded files.

VLC is what I use for my USB microscope. It has a stream viewer feature and it has settings for flipping/rotating/colour changing. And you can record the stream as well.

Use by File > Open Capture Device and then selecting your camera. Window > Video Effects has a bunch of video options.

Wow, right in front of my nose and everything. Thank you cruisin!

And... now I know that the cheapness element of this $20 camera is the lag! (All the $20 - $120 microscope cameras on ebay are identical products.) This is the spec they don't publish. Well now I know. Probably should have posted a question about that first!
