Just how hard is this kind of repair? For anyone who has done it, is there a guide or video for it? I have an A1312 with a lot of play in the hinge and I think a new one would work well. I have replaced hard drives, logic boards, and power supplies but never the hinge. How ****ed am I?

Where’s the hinge on an iMac? You mean a MacBook?

Whatever it is called, it is on the inside of the iMac and is connected to the back of the case. It is the thing that makes it swivel. I think you have to take out almost everything to get to it.
