I bought a PowerBook G3 Lombard 1999 with bronze keyboard. Good old ChatGPT told me that the 45W white boxy charger I have that is compatible with the aluminum G4s would work with this thing. It doesn't.

^ This thing for context.

I don't know if a YoYo charger with a copyright date of 1999 on it will work with my machine or not. The connector appears to look the same as what is on the boxy charger.
The connector on my machine seems to have a larger size than what the chargers I have can fit. So, could anyone point me to what chargers work with my G3? Thanks in advance!

G4 chargers won't do it for ya. Most G3 and even 3400c chargers should work, vet it for compatibility though.

The connectors of G4s and G3s do in fact look similar but aren't compatible at all.

You need the Yoyo kind. Its used on clamshell iBooks, the black PowerBooks, and the 1400 and 3400. Unsure if the 1400 and 3400 chargers would work on a G3, as I use my yoyo on them instead. But they are the same connector.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up buying a M4402 charger because the Mactracker app said that is what originally shipped with the machine. I believe the YoYo and this thing have the same connector, just different styles. If this thing ever kicks the bucket, I'll use a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter or a YoYo. I did not know such voltage could be delivered through a dongle made for audio!
