Ok, here we are again. Here is the situation. I have a linksys router/wireless access point. I have 3 computers connected via cables (2 PC + 1 Mac) without any problems. A little way away, I have a PC with a D-link wireless card connecting to the router without any problem. HOWEVER, there is another PC that is a little further away that only gets about 30% signal strength + just will not connect to the internet as it should. I have also a powerbook with airport that I need to connect to the linksys router.

What I want to know is where + what can I buy to put in the middle to increase the signal strength?? Something like a repeater I think I need.

Cheers for the help.

you have a couple of options. i have a wireless/wired linksys router and my powerbook gets a very good signal, even outside at the edge of my property. you can buy a bridge, which will renew the signal strengh. the cool thing about linksys routers you can detach the antennas and put them somewhere else if you have the proper cabling. you will probably want to try moving the router around a little bit. I can get a signal out side just fine but some places in my house i cant even get a signal. hope i was some help.

You mention that you can detatch an antena from your linksys router. Do you have any information on that? This is my router. Can I do it on this?

I have not actually tried to connect the powerbook yet, but what was the process you went through to connect your powerbook?

Thanks

Sorry, i really havent looked into it. My pc tech at our apple store has the router i have and he told me about it and told me he was gonna wire them into his attic. I mean i havent looked for myself and he could possibly be mistaken but i highly doubt it. I really havent looked into it because my router works fine the way it is.
