I need some airpot help

hi, i had a customer come into work today, and we tried to install a vpn to for his wireless internet. However, the airport wouldnt pick up out server. he had a g4 mac with os version 10.3.2 and his airport version was 8.70. I checked all of his settings, and everything looked right in his network tab. (it was set to automatically pick up any new signals)

I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but he had a computer to computer network set up on channel 11. any help to get me going in the right direction would be appreciated.
