So.. yesterday I was surfing ebay looking at apple products when I came across this ---

Ebay Link

650 shipped for a black CD macbook with 1 gb ram..

What do you think??

Just IMO, that's a little worryingly low.
and the trackpad looks like it's seen its fair share of use!
But if you can overlook that, rock on. :)

Based on previous sales I would think this is a guy with some cash and he's just not interested in his machine any longer.

Looks a little hot to me, but if you don't mind, enjoy! :D

Thats what I thought too.. but the seller has been in constant communication, and already shipped and I have fedex tracking on it. He also had a lot of feedback mostly 99% positive... and pretty recent..

Ill update when it arrives tomorrow!

I have no doubt that you will receive a working MacBook, who's machine it really is is another question! :) But that's me being paranoid as my last laptop was stolen...

Q: i was just wondering if there was anything wrong with this computer. internally or cosmetically?

A: NOTHING WRONG.IT MAY HAVE SCRACHS ON THE BOTTOM.

May have? If he is selling his own laptop, surely he would know?

And what's with the no books (or software)? If your installation borks, you will have to shell out another $129 for Tiger et al. From the looks of this, this is not his laptop.

That's a damn good deal. Let us know how it runs when it arrives.

Hopefully it wasn't stolen. That dude was definitely selling a lot of expensive stuff and the fact that it's a new (ish) machine with no original box and restore discs would worry me. Hope it all turns out okay, though.

I love Black MacBooks!

Sounds like you're part of the eBay = online fence program. When you get it, it may be a good idea to take it to Apple and have them check who the serial # is registered to. They should be able to verify that it wasn't stolen through email and have eBay help bust this guy if it was. Then again if you don't care, then don't brag.

the box was delievered today! I will post some pics and what I find in it..

Well I can brag too :p
Not about a Mac though

Last year I bought a xbox 360 premium (retail price 400 euro) with 28 original games (60 euro a piece - 1,680 euro total) + 2 wireless controllers(40 euro a piece) for just...
Are you ready for this?!

380 euro !!!

It was used but only for a month and still looked new.

Till now I haven't had a single problem and I have no idea why the idiot sold it to me so cheap. It was worth over 2000 euro! It wasn't on eBay so he didn't even have to sell it to me but he did.

Ontopic:
Nice buy !!!

Hmm...I don't think it's may be stolen just because he don't have the book and the CD. I own a Laptop and I lost the CD and book myself. Think because he said may have scratch because he just being honest. Maybe the scratch is not visible but examin closely enough it may have scratches. I think you got a sweet deal, however you should have ask if it come with Apple Care. If it does, then you got a sweet deal. I don't think it quite a good deal if it doesn't still have Apple Care on it. Apple product are extremely expensive to repair when the time come. Some people skim out on Apple Care, I don't blame then. Apple Care is ways expensive. But there is many horror story for broken Mac. :(

What about the scratches on the bottom? Like the serial numbers scratched off? I'll bet it was stolen. No manuals or books? Power cord is there though. Most likely stolen out of a car. I wouldn't buy it.
