I need to buy a Mini today...I need help with something...

Hi guys,
Ive been waiting for the refresh. My Core 2 Duo Imac is dying , random blue screen followed by login windows, freezing and beach balls u get the idea.

I have to buy today..

I'm going fro the Core i5 MacMini (I'm broke), buying from bhphotovideo.com seems slightly discounted, instead of apple...any reason why I should or shouldn't?

As for monitors with a tight budget...but I do web graphics, vector illustrations on adobe illustrator, I don't have money for a monitor with color accuracy..so I'll just try to do the best I can.

I'm looking at these options, what you guys think????Would I need extra cables?

BH Photo is a very decent place to make on line purchases. What I would recommend is that you consider 3rd party RAM and max out at a pair of 8gig for a total of 16 gigs. This is based on your applications and the fact that more RAM improves some facets of performance. Buying 16 gigs from Apple is just short of ridiculous given their overblown prices and thus 3rd party is the wiser choice for RAM purchase.

I can't comment on the monitor you are possibly purchasing other than the fact that if you are doing images for web, it may suffice. There was no mention about the colour gambit. Just be aware it would be wise no matter what you buy that you consider some "calibration" tool that generates a proper profile for your monitor.

I just got my late 2012 Mac mini with the core i5 a week ago. I absolutely love it and am running on the stock 4 gigs of ram. Its an extremely fast little computer. You will be very pleased, I got mine at best buy on sale for labor day weekend. I plan on upgrading the ram in the near future but to be honest I'm not having any troubles with my current configuration so I might put that off. 😀

I bought my 2.3 mini from B&H, been doing business with them for years. I also ordered 16GB of Crucial RAM from them at the same time. Make sure you select 1600MHz RAM.
