I originally used pwnage tool to unlock my iphone to 2.0. I now want to upgrade to 2.2. What is the best and easiest way to do this?
Can i get some detailed instructions please.
    Thanks.

    I'm running a mac under 10.5.5

If you want to unlock in the future, then use pwnage tool and do it that way. If you don't care about an unlock. Then update to stock 2.2 through itunes (make note of what jailbreak apps you have, so you can download them later) and then download and run the newest quickpwn. That is the easiest way.

    only applies to 3g iphones

if you have the first iphone you will still be able to unlock if you update by itunes

like stated above, a simple google search will reveal ALL of the things you need to download right infront of you.

I found this on the first page of a google search

    google search terms

    firmware 2.2

    quickpwn

there you go. We spoon fed you all the answers.

If i use itunes to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.2, will my phone be locked up? it is currently unlocked. It was unlocked with pwnage tool when it was originally released for. 2.0.

If you have a 2G iphone then just updating to 2.2 through itunes won't get rid of your unlock because there is no baseband update with the 2.2 firmware on the 2G iPhone. If you have a 3G iphone using a sim unlock the 2.2 firmware will make the sim unlock no longer work. You need to update to 2.2 through pwnage tool to preserve the baseband.

We're both telling the truth, he just did it in more words. If it's a 3G, you have to use PwnageTool to redo whatever you're doing.

If it's the first iPhone, use either QuickPwn or PwnageTool.
