so im at my friends house trying to find a file that is on this old computer,
its windows xp, i know iknow, getting a mac will fix that problem

but anyway
it boots up
normal screen comes up,
then a pictures covers everything
and it goes back and forth, then stays on the picture

i can do the ctrl alt delete and that pops up, then i can try and run a file through file new task, but i forgot what to do,
i haven't been on here in a while.

i tried going in safe boot but when im there it just windows xp in the bottom two corners and is all black with some writing up top , there is now tool bar or anything i can open or do.


any help would be much appriciated

i know i would but i don't even have a disk
and i need some file off it
after i get this im doing a fresh install


there is some program called vrmonsvc.exe and its taking up all the cpu and making it run at 100%.
i cant stop it, it wont allow me to.


we need this file, it has so much work on it, i very very very want to get it.

Get a Linux boot disk and copy the file off to a USB flash drive. Check to see what OEM sticker you have on the tower and then find a compatible Windows disc.
