"MBP Classic"

For all the joiks out there badmouthing this model, go back to your PCs or Vaios or Acers. The MBP Classic will go down as one of the longest reigning, most successful laptop designs ever - for good reason.

Well technically the old design was an 8 year old PowerBook design. And I'm not sure how you could call it one of the most successful laptop designs ever, since they didn't sell nearly as many as PC makers do.

Well, not many laptop models outsold this classic, aluminum Mac, whether designated PowerBook or Macbook Pro during the same time period. While there were tons more PC laptops sold, look at all the different models of them that existed. Few lasted more than a year. The only other one that comes to mind is the IBM Thinkpad A and T series, classic designs in their own right, with the best laptop keyboards ever made. There were various configurations of the Thinkpad series, but they were unmistakable, and made a statement in the "serious" computing world. Apple's aluminum "pro" series was the other laptop in this category. Not bad, and that's why it will always be an Apple classic (and collectible in the years to come.)

That's how I can say the Macbook Pro "Classic" is one of the most successful laptop designs ever. :)
