A few people when they've showed me something on their phone recently, have had Reduce Motion enabled. I'm actually starting to like it.

The weird thing is, when I bring it up to them, they seem to have no idea what I'm talking about.

Seems like a setting that you have to intentionally choose.

I intentionally chose it, yes.

Settings >> Accessibility >> Motion.

I did it for iPhone 4 (or 6?) when the newer iOS releases started to slow it down. I just tried it on 13 Pro and I can’t say I like it, maybe I’m spoiled by the buttery smooth animations, it feels like it actually slows everything down.

Reduce Motion is pretty bad/slow on iPhone especially when app or window switching. For MacOS I’m not even sure what it does ha. However, on the iPad it is far better implemented so if I were to use it then it would be that one.

Apple’s software doesn’t really seem to know how to handle it however so more often than not it’s a faster experience with the default (off).

reduces eye fatigue. reduced transparency is even better. on a mac i have all this set as well as increased contrast as i'm on a mac all day for a living. helps reduce eye strain a lot imo

Cross fade is nice, I wish they could actually develop further on the iPhone.

But, it sucks because the app switcher on iPhone becomes a “one at a time” swipe from card to card (instead of the “album scroll” normal behavior).

I wish I could have both at same time. Matter of fact I’ll put in a feature request.

After seeing this thread, I tried reduce motion, but I guess I'm too used to the motion so I reverted, and it's not like I don't get enough battery life with my iPhone 13.

I agree with this, it’s the one thing I don’t like about RM on iPhone.

They probably turned it on by using a battery saving guide or Home Screen customization guide or similar. I don't think it actually makes much difference for battery, but I digress.

I used to use reduce motion all the time, during the iOS 7-10 days. But, not anymore. I just turned it on and immediately turned it off. No thanks.

I’ve used it as early as iOS 7, I think. I prefer cross-fade transitions rather than having the icons dropping into place. It doesn’t cause me headaches or anything but I just don’t think it’s practical for me.
