Expose always goes off when I don't want to it to. Being set to a keyboard buttor or a screen corner it's the same.

I learned that I already use screen corners for getting to menus a la fit's law. I flick to the corner and then move to the menu. Expose made using my computer painful.

Man, I hate "aim clicking." (-_-)' I just with I wasn't in such a minority.

Well remove it from the corners and assign it to buttons that won't interupt....

Check your settings and make sure they are correct. Also what do u mean by " I just with I wasn't in such a minority" it doesnt make sense to me.

Bless

I don't really understand the problem. You can turn off hot corners so that Expose doesn't activate when you flick to a corner. Do you also accidentally hit the keyboard buttons? In System Preferences, you can set the keys that activate Expose, and you can even set a key combination to activate it.

I think he means that he's in the minority of people who "aim-click", which I believe to mean:

Hmm, I should open the Apple menu.
*FLINGS MOUSE TO THE UPPER LEFT OF MOUSE PAD*
*CLICKS WHILE IN MID FLING*

**Apple menu opens if timed corrently**

...I do that.

I think Expose is the best thing to happen since the mouse-

I use it every minute at least while computing. I have found though that it makes a difference what corner I set it to activate...I never have it to the top left since I access the apple menu so much- but I don't hardly ever use spotlight so I use that corner. maybe you should try that.

I have

All application windows - top-left
All windows - bottom-left
Desktop - top-right
Dashboard - bottom-right

:) mmm. such an incredible invention

Hmm...I never really found a use for "Active Application Windows" but maybe thats just because I have never used it.

I have:
Top Left: Nothing
Top Right: Desktop
Bottom Left: All-Windows
Bottom Right: Dashboard

I think most Windows people have a tough time with it. They always hit the corners and then not know what happened. I only have one corner ativated, bottom left for the desktop. My Logitech mouse has a thumb button and this is for all windows, then clicking the wheel on the mouse does the Dashboard.

Some useful keyboard shortcuts

CMD+Tab = flip through applications (most people know this)
CMD+` = flip through windows within a single application. (` is the key a the top left of the keyboard. It also has the ~ [aka tilde] on it).

you have mighty mouse, don't you? that is a dodgy little mouse, it can jump to the corners occasionally and activate your hot corners. take expose out of your hot corners and keep the mighty mouse on a good mouse pad and blow some compressed air at that mouse, it might help.

I agree. I use it constantly... all the time.

So do I. Whenever I'm on a windows machine at school I try to use it, instinctively  .

I have a similar problem when I am on the Macs at my school. I always think that there is something wrong with them when hit the corners and nothing happens, but they are just not setup for hot corners. :p

my mum is stuck on jaguar, so when i sit down at her computer to explain how to do something i hit an F key and it does nothing and she thinks im doing some secret computer trick that promotes her idea that computers in general are too technical. thats called a run on sentence children and run on sentences are whack. like crack.

Because I keep my dock on the left side and the menu is on top, I don't have a hot corner for the upper left of the screen (because like you I find it frustrating), but since I hardly ever need to access the right side menu bar (just look at it), it's just fine for me to have exposé on the other three corners. Exposé still annoys me when I'm in a game that forgets to disable hot corners, though.

I've got my Kensington mouse to open Dashboard when both the right and left buttons are clicked simultaneously.

If you don't like exposé, the problem is you, not the feature, get used to it :p

Really though, exposé may be the best computer invention of the last 10 years, it would be advantageous for you to train yourself to love it as much as the rest of us do.

That sums it up for me.

While I'm not an expose nut, like a lot of other posters here, I do sometimes use it and find it useful. That being said, I don't quite understand what your issue is. If you don't like hot corners, turn them off. If you have a problem with keyboard shortcuts, change them or disable them. If you don't use expose, just get it out of your way. If you need help doing any of this, then ask for that help, don't just complain about the feature...

dude. exposé isn't all that. i use the app switcher to switch apps and the apple ` to switch windows. much faster. i do use exposé to show the desktop however.

I've never had problems with my Mighty Mouse flinging across, though I'm sure it will someday. Every other optical mouse I've ever used will occasionally fly to the top left, including my Apple Pro Mouse that came with the G5.

But, that aside. I love the Mighty Mouse in conjunction with Expose because I've got the "squeeze" button set to 'all applications' and use it constantly. It's the best thing since sliced bread! Of course I've generally got at least 5 or more windows/applications going at once because I tend to get distracted easily, so it really helps sort through all the windows. And I especially like it when in Photoshop, I can very quickly go from image to image with just a little squeeze. :D

Its not just Mighty Mouse that does that. There is a thread about it.

That's why I'm always accidently doing "ALT+" commands on school Windows computers...
