All iPads I own an iPad 3. Is it dumb to buy a mini or mini 2?

Not Any More Foolish

You are no more foolish than someone who say owns 10 handbags or 20 pairs of black shoes.

I'm not sure that I would have both of them but personally I don't have a need. I have an iPad 2 and IF the Mini gets a retina display I will upgrade. It wouldn't be a real upgrade for you but you but I will say this, my girlfriend has a Mini and I love using it. It feels great to hold and browse with. Easier to type with also.

I recently purchased an Ipad 3 off this girl who was getting rid of it because she claimed it was too heavy for her. She sold it to me for a steal at $270 still under warranty. I love it and would not sell it but I also love the design, feel and weight of the mini. My girlfriend said im wasting money that there is no need for a mini but I was thinking of using the mini to take with me wherever I go (I'm a personal trainer, grad student and teacher) and then use the Ipad 3 whenever I'm at home. I also have an older model 2009 13 inch macbook pro I use for school work. Is she right, am I just getting caught up in the apple hype? Do i steal a mini at a cheap price once the mini 2 comes out or spring for the 2 if the rumors are true if it has retina?

Yes it's a waste of money that is unless you have money to throw away like most of the members here do. Plus the screen looks bad compared to the retina. My wife has the mini and I hate looking at it after using my 4.

Wait until the Mini 2 with retina comes out before getting rid of your iPad 3. The current Mini isn't as good as the iPad 3 with the retina display.

I went from the iPad 3 to the iPad Mini and love it! After a few weeks of just using the iPad Mini, I sold my iPad 3. I miss the retina display, that's about it.
