My wife is Japanese and after playing with an i-touch I was facinated that it was the first handheld sold in the US, besides the Nintendo DS, that had the option of using using a Japanese keyboard when emailing online.

I was amazed to find out that the i-phone does not have this option. I can understand that sms mesaging in Japanese can't work form japan to US because Japan is on a higher CDMA frequency, but I can't understand why they didn't add it for web use.

Is there anyway to update this?

Thanks,

CFS

Mainly because it is not sold in Japan. Once that happens you will be able to set the keyboard to Japanese and even change the interface to Japanese. Right now there is not need since it can't even be used in Japan, nor is it sold there.
