i photo has disappeared

just trying to u load some pictures and i photo wouldn't open so i closed safari so i could just concentrate on iphoto and an update flashed up so i clicked install and restart everything went fine as i tried to open iphoto again it had a ghosted ? in front of it then it disappeared now it is nowhere to be found ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED all photos are still on the mac but there is no i photo to open them??????

If you have iLife CDs you can pull it from there. If iLife was pre-installed then I believe you can pull iPhoto from the OSX install discs.

thanks for the help guys i reinstalled and all is fine now i appreciate your time and advice
