They have virtually unlimited things they can do with a watch face and the only bone they throw us is the weird eyes one.

I don’t want creepy Picasso abstract clock eyes on my watch, I’d like a new chronograph. Or a Roman numerals face.

I know they’re a business and they want you to buy the newest but I can’t get over how they essentially have left the S3 as abandonware.I like the watch and use it all day but this stuff is the reason I’ve decided that when this thing breaks I’m not getting another. I still like analog watches so I’ll go back to that.

I don't understand why not all watch faces are compatible with all watches? unless the chronograph one is quite heavy and causes a strain on the hardware?

Well we already have a chronograph, so it can clearly run some kind of it. I get that the new ones are designed for the rounded edge display, but it’s possible to make versions of it for our watches. Just frustrating

It’s a 3 year old device, and because a lot of those faces are “optimized” for the larger display.

Yes, buuuut, it is still being sold by Apple. I only use one watchface on my S3, so I don't care too much, but if you're going to sell a watch as new, it would be nice if it were better supported.

Exactly this. They're still selling it as new.
Also like I said before, yes I know the rounded faces wouldn't work but they can take 30 minutes and design ones that would work on the S3.

Really? You aren’t going to ever get a new AW because they aren’t updating the watch face of a 3 year old watch? They DID give you the OS 7 upgrade which serious improvementS. But its the watch face you want to hang your hat on? Yes, I Know the argument tha they still sell it... at a bargain rate. Surprising they are giving some perks to the new watch versus the bargain version.

Hm... this is how the world works. Series 0-3 have a different screen resolution and aspect ratio therefore Apple didn't commit resources for the design to fit these old screens.

I said this when I realized the Infographic face isn't on the S3. There's literally zero reason they can't have a version of it sans corner complications. There's no functional reason the California face isn't available, either.
