Rant warning! I’ve been an Apple user since the original iPhone. Upgraded year after year. Own an iPhone, AWU, AirPods Pro, iPad, MBP, Apple TV, a bunch of Home Pods. I’ve reached a point where I feel disillusioned by Apple. They announced Siri AI in iOS 18. Then pushed to iOS 26. Then pushed to iOS 27. Made a deal with ChatGPT. Then Google Gemini. Waiting list for this. Waiting list for that. Unclear to me if even my HomePods gen 2 will be compatible with Siri AI or will I be again forced to sell my home pods and buy new ones to have these features. Yesterday I went jogging and asked Siri to turn on workout buddy and it goes - ok stopping workout. Today I asked when during the day it’ll rain, and it goes - yes it will rain. I watched this YouTube comparison of iPhone 17 pro max and Pixel 10 Pro XL and the AI features are like light year ahead. Apple photos doesn’t even have a feature to clean up similar photos (not talking about duplicates), which my wife and daughters love making - why make one good photo when you can make 20 similar photos and completely flood our library with them. I don’t want to keep buying new hardware just so I can have new features. Tired of features being announced years before they are actually ready. Ya, I know, lots of first world problems, so forgive me. Wondering if there are others who feel like me.

There are certainly enough respectable YouTubers who say iOS 27/ipados 27 is fairly good for a version 1. Considering no detail was given I’d believe the YouTubers. However iOS 27 still is a beta product.

I have found it more solid than 26
At the very least it's as stable as 26. 26 has been buggy for me. I agree that there seem to be less bugs with 27.

I've had Wi-Fi connectivity issues even after disabling Wi-Fi assist. I just found out that "handoff suggestions" was turned on again on my access points after a recent UniFi upgrade. It keeps re-enabling that. I turned that off and it seems to have helped.

I do get some occasional Bluetooth disconnects. It affects my Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitor. Luckily I'm not an insulin-dependent diabetic that absolutely needs it. It's for more information only.

??????

I've done extensive testing for my blog of Siri AI vs Gemini and pound-for-pound it has matched every response, with Gemini being better at images whilst Siri has better context. I'll just hold the crown on my Watch (OS27) and ask it to start a particular workout and off it goes. Apple tidies up duplicate photos in iCloud storage in Settings. I did this very thing only 2 days ago. I asked it when it will rain and it showed me the hour-by-hour graphic from Weather.

Of course there are bugs in the system being Beta 1. Siri won't stop an alarm by just a voice command, requiring a phone unlock as well. The graphics in the bar are a little glitched. The liquid dropdown on the 16e ignores the presence of the notch. But its also Beta 1 and these things are to be expected. If you have a different experience than me using the always bug-ridden Beta 1 then send feedback to Apple. Its why we Beta test.

It's fine. There are some bugs of course, but nothing that is showstopping. The carplay disconnecting thing sucks, but it reconnects on its own, so that's good. Overall, it's fine for a beta 1. Beta 2 has been the one that suffers the most historically.

Unlike others here, I read your post. And while I don't really care that stuff has been delayed (My phone does pretty much everything I need it to), I agree with your frustration that they show all these "features and promises" during keynotes and delay the hell out of them actually appearing. I believe that was your point rather that actual issues with iOS27 problems. Even the iPhone 16 scam that you need the iP16 for this super special Apple Intelligence stuff they showed that is just now finally appearing two years later. So yeah somewhat I agree but I don't get too bent about it as long as the things I need work as I need them to.

Exactly! My point wasn't to complain about beta 1 version of an operating system!

They did that once. And they learned from that mistake. And they settled a class action lawsuit about it already. This is not a modus operandi. It was a blip. The issue is now being rectified. It likely won't happen again.
