So today I on a whim remembered that back in the day I bought Diablo 3 and the expansion.

Last time I played the game was over a decade ago.

The first thing I had to do was to try and remember what e-mail my Battle.net account was tied to. Then a password reset later I was downloading D3 again for the first time in more than a decade.

To my surprise D3 now is AS native (did not know that), and since it’s an older game it runs great on my M1 Mini (16 GB).

Now I have many hours of entertainment since it’s almost like playing the game for the first time (since it’s so long since I last played it).

But I did note that the Battle.net client is still x86. I hope MS/Blizzard fixes that so the game doesn’t become locked behind the Battle.net client once Rosetta is dropped.

So for anyone interested D3 works great on AS (if you already didn’t know that it has been upgraded to AS native)

I expect that Blizzard will get around to updating the client eventually; it's also needed for WoW, and I doubt that even MS-Blizzard would want to lose those monthly subs.

That said, clearly the Mac isn't a priority for Blizzard these days, and we may not see an ARM64 battle.net client until sometime next year. Perhaps Apple will have a quiet word at some point, and showcase WoW at WWDC.
