I logged in this morning and now I see voting on the mobile layout. Is this just a test or is it here to stay?

Working fine for me on iPhone 5 Safari!

ya, it's just bringing feature parity between desktop and mobile. so here to stay, but things may change on the voting thing anyway

Nice to see more features on the mobile version.

...now if I could only figure out how to subscribe to threads there (and I guess how to post links so that they are automatically parsed as well)...

When the redesign comes in 1 5 10 years maybe we'll have a good unified responsive design ;)

Kidding of course. Good to see the feature move over finally :)

Mobile Site Up-Vote

Yay!!! Up-Vote on the mobile site is now available !! Thank you MacRumors!!

Hmmm ... I don't think too recently. I just noticed it now, I had the desktop version opening in my iPhone. It wasn't there a couple of months ago.

I merged your thread with the first one that noticed it on August 7th.

Up votes are pointless without down votes.

The thing that we are left to do is to create a post that simply says "down vote" but that would appear to violate the forum rules.

True. But if you were to take the time to write a post to say down vote, why not take the opportunity to elaborate as to why you wanted to down vote something?

MacRumors gives people an easy and convenient means of agreeing with a post but makes it cumbersome to disagree with a post by taking away the down vote button and then issuing warnings when someone creates a post that simply says down vote. Kinda hard to understand how that would even make sense to someone.

Why is it so cumbersome to write out and explain why you would otherwise down vote something?

Because if you agree there's not much more to say as there's no real explanation that's needed or usually asked for with agreement, but if you disagree then you should be able to say why otherwise it's sort of incomplete without that explanation.
