I sent back my LG Ultrafine 4K over color issues

My LG UltraFine has uneven color temperature across the screen -- the lower/central portion is subtly warmer/pinker than surrounding areas. It's especially obvious when viewing sites with white backgrounds. As a photo and video editor this was unacceptable -- the monitor is now on its way back to Apple for an exchange.

Anyone else with similar issues?

Update: I got a replacement and it had similar issues: This time, warmer tones on the right side, cooler tones on the left. This seems like a problem with the product, not a one-off flaw. I'm returning it again. I'd encourage Ultrafine owners to check their displays to see if you have problems as well. Try moving a white background window around your screen and see if it looks like it's shifting color.

That's really disappointing to hear. I'm waiting for the 27" 5K to be available... hopefully it doesn't have the same issues. Did Apple/LG mention anything about the issue? Are they sending you another replacement?

No, they haven't mentioned anything about it. I'm not gonna go for another replacement; I have a feeling it'll be the same. It really is a shame because it's otherwise a stunning monitor at a pretty great price.

The problem is something that I imagine most users could live with easily (the color shift is not obvious), but like I said, I edit photos and videos and this is a no-go.

My 4K UltraFine is slightly pinkish but is very even. The annoying thing is that the late 2016 MacBook Pro screens, while excellent, are the warmest panels I think Apple has ever shipped. So, sat next to each other, the MacBook looks too yellow and the UltraFine looks too cool and pink.

How are you guys finding your 4k Ultrafine monitors?
I'm on the edge of pulling the trigger on one within the sale period. I'd be using it with a 2016 tbMBP 13" but would also like to be able to hook it up to my Windows PC for the rare occasion where i need a high resolution display for it (probably less than 1% of the time but it's nice to know if it's doable).
Do you know if a DP--> USB C cable will allow it to work with a PC? It has DP 1.4 so bandwidth isn't an issue.

Would love to hear comments on screen quality (compared to the internal 2016 MBP screen) and anything else you might want to mention. I've had a hard time finding reviews for it, so it would help me out a lot.

Also, did you find your shipping estimate accurate? I'm being quoted 8-10 weeks and mid to late February delivery?! I could get a brand new car produced and delivered in shorter time than that :O

Screen quality seems similar to the built-in screen - it's quite nice, at least so far. I should mention I haven't gone out of my way looking for flaws...but in normal use it seems fine, and similar to the built-in display on the 13". Except bigger, obviously.

My only complaint is the speaker quality - they're loud, but sound like garbage, IMHO.

Thank you so much for your reply! I just ordered one Got mid to late February as delivery date though haha. Let's hope it arrives sooner. No physical Apple Stores here in Norway unfortunately, otherwise i'd be there right now looking for stock Speakers is not an issue for me, i have Logitech Z623 speakers at my desk already!
