And if so how can I stop it?

Got this text the other night:

    " ALERT.
Someone has tried to locate your mobile phone.
    Find out who: https://xxxxxxx.com "

Is this for real or just spam?
    Or a jealous ex LOL!

If for real, can they do this? And how can I stop them?

    thanks :)

No. No one is spying on you.

Now go turn off that one light you always forget before bed, and pick a different shirt to wear tomorrow. That blue one still has the stain, remember?

Why not just block them. Texts have phone numbers too. I would never click on their link or reply to these.

I didn't! There's not a number associated with the text, I'm interested if they try again!

    All stains gone LOL!!

I've been lucky so far, I've not gotten any text spam or alerts, but I'd consider this spam as others pointed out

Spam. You have an iPhone it can't be hacked in that way. Now if you had an android phone, given the news that came out this week, it's completely possible.
