i went to BB to play with the xoom i have to say it was a avery nice tablet, i was surprised by the speed that the pages loaded.

The touchscreen was as nice if not better then the iPad very smooth.
loved the camera.
i guess i will see what March 2nd brings.

Nice to have a plain and honest, non biased opinion of something.

Did you find it too heavy to hold?
How about holding the device with the left hand and using it with right?

it felt well made and it was just like the iPad had a giant security lock on it.
i could not see using it with one hand.

The touchscreen was crazy accurate I have used my iPad from day one and this is one beautiful tablet.

I thought it was too heavy and needed to keep the power button on the side.

How did you feel about the screen quality? I have to play around with and I can't get past the screen. It feels very dull and washed out when you compare it to the I pad. For the price I expected a better screen.

I can live with the screen its not that bad.

So...

You spent an HOUR playing with Xoom... and didn't actually buy one.

I'm guessing then... and it's just a guess... there wasn't exactly a HUGE queue of people behind you wanting to 'play' with it?

The kind man in the shop wasn't so much rushed off his feet as had to get up off his @ss before he asked you to 'move along now'?

Mmmm. I'm guessing.. and please, it is just a guess, the queue of people clutching motza/bread/mazoola/green folding/dough/readies was even smaller then the queue behind you just waiting to play with the big mobile phone then?... on a SATURDAY!?

And before you sharpen your knives... I'm looking online at the 'deals' for a Xoom and a 'popular' offer is a 'FREE' case.

...while is EXACTLY how we were selling GSM phones back in 1995.

Xoom... ahead of its time............ FREE CASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First i would have bought one but want the wifi version only thought about the 799 version but for me its not needed.
yes there was a nice young lad behind me waiting to play with it. if they would have had the wifi i would have bought it and returned it if the iPad was better for me.

I have to say i was very impressed with it.

Saw the xoom last night and it was definitely heavier than the iPad. Also the scrolling wasn't as smooth as on the iPad. I really liked the solid build quality and the design. For me the price is the deal breaker as I don't want to be under contract.

Funny i find the scrolling much better and much smoother

I checked out the Xoom and while I liked it $800 price is absurd. I also prefer 4:3 format for larger tablets, my Galaxy Tab is just right for widescreen since it's small and light, but holding the Xoom in portrait mode was uncomfortable.

Thanks.
Nice to have a plain and honest, non biased opinion of something.

What makes it unbiased? The fact that the opinion is that the xoom is better? So when people think something is better than the iPad they are automatically unbiased???
