I started to see "undefined" after every $ sign

Hello everybody, any help is greatly appreciated, as this thing drives me nuts for a second already.
Basics: Mine is MAC os x 10.6.8
Browsers: tried them all: Firefox, Opera, Chrome....
Problem:
Example: tv price is $400.
what it does to the above - is 'tv price is $400 (undefined $400,00)

I went to system preferences, broweser's pref. Nothing so far.
Also, can't find anything similar on Google.
