An iPhone 8S would make sense this year as one last hurrah for home button users and to be the true "lower priced" entry level iPhone.

I find FaceID just as fast as TouchID, it even works when lying in bed for me. TouchID was always inconsistent, and very inconvenient when fingers were slightly damp.
I think youre exaggerating. Face ID on iOS 13 is blazingly fast and maybe as fast as second gen Touch ID. But even on iOS 12, it's still quick enough and the difference is less than 1 second. What are you going to do with the extra 1 second you get with Touch ID?I really miss touch id. So sick of moving phone to face and swiping up. And faceid being 10x slower than touch id.
With that thinking then it could as well take 5 seconds, I mean what are you going to do with extra 5 seconds? It’s almost nothing.I think youre exaggerating. No. I doubt it. iPhone 7S, 8S, 9, and 9S aren't happening...An iPhone 8S would make sense this year as one last hurrah for home button users and to be the true "lower priced" entry level iPhone.
It took two years for a second gen Touch ID and two years after Apple announced Face ID they're going to make it even faster on the new iPhones. So I don't see where it's going backwards. With that thinking then it could as well take 5 seconds, I mean what are you going to do with extra 5 seconds? It’s almost nothing.
The point is that technology should move forward and not backwards, if Face ID is slower, is not as quick and requires specific angles to work compared to Touch ID, then it’s not an upgrade but a downgrade.

I basically just told you where it was going backwards and you totally ignore it. We still don’t know if Face ID is any faster on newer iPhones so we can’t even put that in the table. It took two years for a second gen Touch ID and two years after Apple announced Face ID they're going to make it even faster on the new iPhones. Where do you live?I also think so. March 2020. Refreshed iPhone 8 with A13 chip and 128 GB storage at a lower price point. Would like that. iPhone 8 is an amazing phone. I still love my 8 Plus. Best iPhone i ever had. Yes, the Xs Max would be nicer but i'm not going to pay that ridiculous amount for the Xs Max 256 GB. You can only get that if you live in the US. Just take a look what Apple wants for that phone in Canada and in most European Countries.

Apple needs to push the iPhone 11 & 11 Pro aggressively so it's time for that old design to be retired permanently.
