I think I have a factory unlocked iphone 3g?

I bought a phone off a kid from norway its a model number mb496kn and according to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937 it says its from norway. But in the boxes it indicates that it is carrier locked and there is no check in the unlockable by carrier box.

The phone is running 2.2.1 and has baseband 2.30.03 but works fine with my at&t sim and my 3 network (UK) Sim and my MTS (russia) sim.

Any ideas? I'm not complaing... 🙂

when you activate your iphone via itunes did it say at the end on ur itunes congrats ur iphone has been unlocked?

if yes then u have factory unlocked iphone

I didn't need to activate it its allready activated. I bought it from him used because it had a broken screen which I plan to fix. I just changed the language and poped my sim cards in it.

Scando phones only have a 6 month contract. my 3g contract ran out 5 months ago and is now unlocked.
