I use a Mid 2009 uMBP.

Isn't that port too big for my macbook pro?

I have a mini DP to VGA and the DP looks small. I guess the picture is zoomed in.

It's kind of like mini Firewire ports. The port itself looks nothing like the end of the cord.

Yeah, you're good to go. I'm not sure why they specified the Macbook Air but all 2009+ Macbook/macbook pro's have the mini displayport.

Trust me I don't have OCD like a lot of people in here do (oh no my mbp is so hot, omg my mbp is dead, omg omg my mbp is acting weird, omg my ~!@#$% hurts). Last time my sister bought one for me and she bought a different one and it didn't fit.

I was just paranoid if I ordered the same big one.
