So Ive been begging my parents to get me an iPhone for months, and they ended up giving me my dads old Droid instead. Then today I was walking home and I was making a call when I tripped over a crack in the sidewalk and dropped my phone. This is what it looks like now. I guess Ill be getting my iPhone now! Lol

Actually I just bought a flip phone, a retro Motorola StarTac. I was in France a couple of weeks ago when I came across a small store that refurbishes older phones. http://www.lekki.fr/en/10-motorola-startac Coolest thing ever right, I bought a blue one.

Aw, you're not being fair. I'm sure our young lad, instead of asking mommy and daddy for a new iPhone, is more than ready to get a job, earn the money to pay for his own phone, service contract, and monthly fees.
I'm sure he's not expecting mommy and daddy to pay for all that stuff. His behavior, as he describes it, shows that he ia an honorable lad.

Wow. "Sense of entitlement" is a term thrown around a lot on MR, but this is one instance where it really applies.

Of course I have wanted things better than what I have. So I worked to earn the money to have it. And if I couldn't afford it, I didn't get it.
Not having a job doesn't mean you can't get a job.
It's great that you are getting good grades in school. But does that mean that you should have some expensive electronic device?? I don't get the connection between getting good grades, and being given an expensive piece of electronics.
And as hard as it may be to believe...you do not NEED an iPhone 5, you WANT an iPhone 5. An important distinction that it would serve you well to learn.
