I took my second-hand MacBook Pro 1,1 out from my storage in a cabinet. It's been sitting idle and turned off - in a dry place indoors.

Sadly it turned out that my battery had swollen up - it's the 3rd battery for this ancient Mac - It's getting harder to locate an original replacement battery for a 15" MacBook Pro 1,1

Might just try an un-original battery then.

Just wanted to share my troubles this afternoon. I'm not mourning, but it's getting close.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Took it to the Apple Store. Even though I was a few months out of warranty they replaced it for free.

I don't have that many fingers or even toes in total if I am going to be counting by months out of warranty - or do I? No. Not exactly.
