I bought my iPod just a couple of months ago and, barring a few firmware bugs, was perfect.

I had just bought a few apps, arranged them into folders and pressed the power button. The battery was around 75% full. The TV show I was watching was getting a bit boring so I press the home button. Nothing happened. I pressed it a couple of times. Nothing happened. I pressed the power switch. Nope.

I've plugged it into my wall charger and my iMac and it still won't boot up (or come out of sleep mode. Whatever this is). Tried waking it up for the past 25 minutes!

What's the first thing I do? Do I ring up Apple, take it to an Apple store?

    Cheers all.
Ps. Is this a well known problem, have any of you chaps had it?

Update: Fixed myself. Held down power+home button (for some reason) for 10 seconds and this time it decided to boot up, but took a few minutes to load and all my applications were out of their folders.

Did you try resetting? To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    edit..
    Yes you did.
