So the rumor mill is that the 3 phones next year will be 5.4, 6.1, and 6.7

everyone thinks the X variant will get smaller to 5.4, the XR stays at 6.1, and the Max gets bigger going to 6.7.

what i think is really going to happen is, the X variant will get bigger, go to 6.1, the Max gets bigger, go to 6.7, and the XR variant will become the budget model in every shape and form and drop down to 5.4inches.

people heard that we will get a 6.1 next year, and automatically thought, yea just a XR refresh will OLED.

No, we heard this from the most accurate Apple analyst in the world with a nearly perfect track record on iPhone predictions.

5.4" as a premium device makes sense because of Apple Glasses. If you use Glasses, your screen time will likely decrease and iPhone will act as a tether for CPU and modem.

Sizes don’t matter so much to me. What peaked my interest was the reportage about the design being more akin to the current iPad Pro with hard, square edges like the iPhone 4. If that’s the case and especially if they remove the notch, I predict excitement for the device will be though the roof no matter what sizes it comes in.

Well I hope you are wrong. I don’t care about price, I care about size and am looking for the most premium model I can get in the best size to use comfortably/securely one handed. I’ve found the X/Xs/11 Pro too big so am thrilled with the rumors of a 5.4 pro device.

One thing is confirmed. Some people will be happy and some won’t!

Or maybe we’ll only get 11S, 11S Pro and 11S Pro Max.

same design but maybe smaller notch.

To manage expectations, I think Kuo is referring to the polished/unpolished metal surface rather than the shape. For the 2020 iPhone, he says "but the metal frame surface will be changed to a similar design to the iPhone 4, replacing the current surface design."

In 2016, he described the iPhone X, "We expect the 2017 new iPhone model to adopt a structural design similar to that of iPhone 4/ 4s, meaning it will be equipped with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame surrounded the edges."

The Bolded in your first sentence is exactly what sold the SE so well. It wasn’t necessarily the size the phone by itself, it was the {price} that sold it. Apple isn't just catering to North America, they still need to cater across to other emerging markets. If Apple prices 5.4 porn iPhone for 2020, I’m calling it now, it will outsell all the other Apple iPhone models from 2018/2019 moving forward.

We’ll see. The iPhone and iPad have traditionally followed one another in overall design language. I expect them to come back into alignment next year.

All wrong! Here is what is going to happen. They will make an app that turns the iPad Pro 12.9 inch into an iPhone. You heard it here first. There will be a smaller 11 inch version too!

Really disappointed in the rumours about next year’s phones. Models will be either too small or too big, and returning to the iPhone 4 design is a big mistake, who wants to hold a phone with sharp edges? Ugliest design there was!

Don’t care one iota about 5G, 4G round here is bad enough so 5G won’t be decent until at least 3/4 years’ time

I think 6.7 would be too big for me. But it's a long wait to find out!

6.7 is freakin huge. That’s a hard pass for me, the 6.5 Max was large enough, I don’t need any additional added space, that said; actually my next ‘small’ iPhone will be the 5.4 rumored iPhone for 2020. I don’t care about 5G, I want something less obtrusive in my pocket, and if I need to have a larger display, that’s what I can use my iPads/laptop for.
