Assuming it gets Intel's Skylake version of Core M processors, 720p FaceTime camera, an extra hour of battery life to go with improved performance. I have a feeling that the new MacBook line will define and set the benchmark for ultra portable computers going forward.

I am planning to buy the 2015 version of the MacBook computer because it sounds amazing. :)

I tend to agree, and I will most likely also go for it. Any hardware kinks will also have been removed by then.

...not to mention some design re-cues, hopefully. Figure out how to get at least one more USB port into the machine...the engineers are smart people, and this is not rocket science. The original Air and iPad were not dropped fully-developed into the product line. Given a year or two, the rMB will probably be a very different and much better machine.

Although I do not disagree with the OP, I'm sure the further revisions will be total upgrades from the previous, I cannot figure out why people believe that the rMB will be full of kinks/hardware issues.

I know first gen products tend to have their problems, although very minor in broader terms, I just cannot see how Apple can screw this up. it's one hell of a computer. Perfect for the tablet haters. ;)

720p FaceTime camera in 2016 on a $1300 laptop. That's absurd why not 1080p?

It's a FaceTime/Skype camera so there would be no perceptible difference between a 720p and 1080p. However this one only has a 480p camera and that is pretty weak.

I would reserve the word "amazing" for when WiGig or MA USB gets implemented so that MacBook truly ushers in wireless ultra portable computing and gets rid of the need of ports from a portable laptop. Until then, rMB would just be a shinny, thin and light device that is only good for light tasks on the go. I will probably buy the 1st generation though because it does meet more or less all my needs on an ultra portable machine.

Actually, I won't be surprised if future iterations of the Macbook do away with all ports altogether.

Knowing Apple, they are probably bemoaning the fact that they have to include 1 port when they could have put 0, rather than being able to fit in 1 port instead of 2. Simply because wireless charging isn't up to snuff yet. :p

and so on...the 2017 will be amazing computer

Well, the first gen is usually the weakest. Cf. iPad 1 vs. iPad 2. The latter is still widely used and holds up well. The first one isn't even supported anymore and most newer apps require an iPad 2. The rMB does have some obvious weaknesses, so waiting a year isn't so unreasonable, especially at the premium price they're asking.

You could easily be completely right. It's easy to envision Apple wanting to eliminate wires altogether, including for charging. If Skylake brings wireless charging the next version could eliminate everything but the headphone jack.

The ironic thing is that the only wire attached to a computer or iOS device that has ever caused me any grief is the headphone cable. I've had several near misses when that got snagged, which has never happened with a charging or data cable. Maybe Apple needs to go BT for audio.

I plan tobyy both. The original is amazing and I think the next year's model will have equally amazing improvements.
