Hi,

I'm new here and would like to ask a few questions. Does the iphone 6 have a better battery than the iphone 5s? I recently upgraded mine and I noticed that it uses the battery faster than my old 5s. Last night after a full charge, I read a few blogs and went to sleep, awoke to check on my phone and it had gone down to 30% and it happened to shut off or rest on me. Could it be iOS 8? I could try restoring it to manufacturing settings if that helps. Suks cause I never had any probs with my 5s. Anyone experience anything like this?

Jackie.

No battery life issues with my 6 Plus. Check your battery usage, you can see which apps are using the battery.

I'd give it a few days. Apps are updating at a furious pace, and Spotlight is busy keeping up with that. Meanwhile you might want to check your settings also; some services you may have previously turned off may have been re-set to be active during the upgrade process.

May just be because it's new.

My 6 Plus battery life has been great, but for some reason, during the second night I had it, the battery level plummeted from 80 - 30% with no use and nothing in the background that would have caused that. Hasn't happened since.

Give it some time.

Did you restore from backup? Check battery usage as another member suggested but restoring and setting up as new usually resolves most battery issues.

I was planning on calling Apple to complain about this issue and see if they wanted to offer any compensation. Anyone tried that yet? Just wanted to check if they do anything before I waste god knows how long on hold just to have them tell me to restore via iTunes.

No one is going to pay you or even give you free swag because your phone battery life isn't good enough...
