So flash your minds back to WWDC 2020, Big Sur was announced and the first developer beta was released. Everyone hated the new iPadOS style UI, the weird offsetting of the menus, weird icons that we're inconsistent with each other, and that battery icon 🤣

However, now we are on the 9th developer beta and Apple have fixed pretty much all weird design *bugs* and I think that the Big Sur interface has grown on us all now. The menu bar icons are still not aligned properly but that is because menu add-ons like iStat and coconutBattery haven't adopted the Big Sur design language yet. I'm sure that by GM (hopefully) and Public Release 11.0.0, all of the preliminary bugs should be sorted, but obviously there are going to be more bugs coming in as Apple Silicon Mac's are shipped and extra testing is done so I can expect we will get to 11.0.7 or something minor dot release around those lines. Yes, I know there are still lots of bugs but that is expected of any beta. At least Big Sur seems alot more stable and reliable than Catalina's beta.

I'd rather see stability, reliability, and an overall well functioning OS than the design tweak, emoticons etc being done. Time to actually get the basics right would be my answer. I'm tired of being an Apple beta tester and having to deal with their support system whose normal answer is it's not them but me. I remember the old days where you could upgrade with confidence and now its upgrade and wonder if your machine will be fried, what no longer works if you still have mail...etc....

Then don't install a beta version of an OS? This is a really strange complaint.

What old days are these? Like Snow Leopard, that would randomly delete user folder on upgrade?
