Mistake

#1 - got too drunk
#2 - threw up on the phone
#3 - tried to wash it
#4 - waiting until next day to attempt dry out
#5 - bought a new phone instead of attempted dry out
#6 - bought new phone vs replacement - possible savings
#7 - thinks somebody wants his piece of crap
#8 - considers selling it without knowing if personal stuff has been deleted.

How many more stupid things can one person do?

#9 Posting the whole thing on the Internet

Tell someone.

I would seriously consider a first time offense of breaking a few laws and posing this story under someone else's login before admitting this, in public, on the internet. Although you probably have to admit the vomit is preferable to receiving an video that is a few weeks old of your phone falling in the toilet, miraculously surviving.

After you've waited the necessary amount of time for drying and it still doesn't work, and depending on the level of personal information on the phone, microwave the old one to completely finish it off and recycle it.

I can relate.. my 21st bday I had my 3GS. had 1 too many shots.. last call me and my friends decided to do one last shot.. a jager bomb.. had the phone on the table.. 2 minutes after downing the drink BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! It was projectile galore! Exorcist style it was awesome and embarrassing at the same time.. went straight to the restroom to clean up and change clothes.

Got out went to the car only to remember I left my phone at the table.. luckily my good friend had my phone in her hand she wiped it down with a damp towel and gave it back to me.. one of the best nights ever..

We never went back to that bar anymore after that little show I did. :D

Wow I guess sell it on eBay but I don't reccomend disclosing that it was vomitted on not good if you want ppl to bid I say go with water damage clean it up best ya can make sure it no longer smells like vomit and next time I don't know keep it in a ziplock Baggie should be vomit proof

I know someone who found a phone with the persons data including banking info and passwords. The idiot emailed herself thousands $ from his account. Not to smart.

If you do go to the Apple store and have any intention on telling them the story, make sure you do it before you hand them the phone, as they have to put gloves on to handle the "biohazard" that you will be giving them.

And if you don't tell them early enough, they will be pissed that they had to touch it, and then will not give you anything for free.

I vomited on a MacBook Pro once, but it wasn't as funny because I was having a really bad panic attack though which is what caused the vomiting (you don't read about that in psych textbooks but it can happen). Still worked. Not too gross really considering e coli bacteria and other bad stuff doesn't come into play until you get past the stomach.

omg good thing you didn't post pics man or I would've vomited all over my keyboard!

If I ever threw up

or dropped my phone in a toilet or anything close I would never post it on a public forum even among strangers. I would just pony up $200 for a new phone and move on.

that said I doubt there is a market for thrown up iPhones who wants that lol but no harm in trying ebay they buy many the amazing crap.

This topic is disgusting...

... disgustingly awesome.

On a side note, my current phone (android) is waterproof.. I actually had a conversation with friends. We were wondering if it would survive vomit, diarrhea and mud, considering how the phone's selling point is dust/water/sand proof.
