not any that i know of, but there are always a few tricks round to scamming while bypassing the eBuyer protection. By the sellers putting info they dont want you to know in areas they expect you to not check. you never know, the $255 17" macbook pro that someone is trying to sell on eBay might be just selling the box and the enclosed info (even if $255 for just that is a rip off!)
the only way to check for scammers on eBay is by looking at the gallery of the product they are trying to sell. For example if they have no picture, they can't be trusted because there is no proof that they actually have the product they are trying to sell. Not just that, but if someone is putting the name of the product they are trying to sell as, for example, 'macbook pro 17" 2011', and they only put picture of the box, would you trust the seller?
Another tip would be to find as much info as possible on what the seller is trying to say as well. That way you know what they are actually trying to sell
