I'd get a late model 12" iBook rather than a late gen 12" PB. You'll save money, and the specs aren't all that different. If you like the PB look more, and aesthetics are very very important to you, then get the 12" PB. Otherwise, I highly suggest the 12" iBook. It's screen isn't as bright though. It used to be the same as the 12" PB until they improved the screen with the 1.33 GHz G4 update (I believe).

Thanks for the advice guys, but there are reasons why I don't think a 12' is for me:

I have concerns that a 12' machine may be too small to use as my main machine, as I'll be using it a lot. I could get an external monitor, but one of the main reasons I'm getting a laptop is because they're so much more energy efficient, so that would defeat the purpose. The questions that I'm now looking for answers to are as follows...

1) How long into the future could I expect a 933Mhz machine to be able to do what I need (MS office, internet, basic photo editing layout, running latest OSs)

2) The clarity of the screen on the 14' iBook. I'm aware it's the same resolution as the 12' PB, but I think I'd like things a little bigger. But is the 14' iBook clear and crisp?

As always, any help would be very welcome. Thanks folks. ;)

Also, I'd be particularly interested to hear the perspective of anyone who has made the switch from a deskop machine to a smaller, 12' or 14' laptop.

Thanks for all the help guys.
