I want a clean desktop

Are there any programs that a) cleans mt desktop putting files in certain places, and b) have it so that nothing ever get's on the desktop?

That would be you doing this so I guess maybe just stop doing it.

I don't know of anything that "puts" files on your desktop. Its your choice where to save them. Choose another folder.

If the OP is still running Tiger, then the default download location is the desktop.

Tinkertool will disable desktop icons. Then I just add the "Desktop" to a stack in my dock

Is there another way to clean the desktop? I really don't want to download tinkertool if I don't have any good use for it. Also, I only want the HD icon on the desktop.

Again, stop putting stuff there and it'll stay clean. This really isn't a hard concept to fathom.
