I like iPod with video playback, but i prefer to a nano size iPod
judging by the fact that apple wouldn't make a nano that resembles a bad photoshop mock up it would be ok, it could be done but it would be expensive, bigger screen, more powerful cpu the costs outweigh the benefits.
maybe in about 2 years time.
perhaps you should look into a book on photoshop first.
I could never see that happening or at least I would hope not. I personally think the screen looks like crap on the nano cause it's so tiny but then again I would also never buy a nano because it can't hold enough songs.
Would maybe qualify as the most useless piece of hardware ever. Why not an iPod shuffle with video on an 0,5" Screen? I bet James Bond looks really amazing in 60x40 px resolution.
Third^100 The iPod with Video is already too small.
That's not Photoshop. That's probably Microsoft Word.
Even on MS Word you can do it better than this.
Why don't you pick up the new iPod Pequeño? You can watch movies on it.
lol. I was just going to suggest that!
For anyone who does not get the reference: http://live.watchmactv.com/featured/snl/
The current video iPod is bordering on too small as it is! No!
P.S. Learn Photoshop, it's something you won't rergret....
Here we go!!!
Not only is that hideous, it would never work. I have seen some pretty good, though probably still waaaay far in the future iPod video concepts on iLounge tho.
nano + linux = video goodness
there are certain things that don't actually make you go blind if you do them repeatedly. but, i think if you watched multiple shows on an iPod nano sized screen, then you WOULD actually go blind!!!! i think the screen on the iPod video is kinda small for watching shows. i tried watching an episode of the simpsons on my bro's iPod video, but i only made it about 15 min into the episode. i do think there is potential with 'docking' an iPod into a TV to watch video on the TV from the iPod. . . but with TVs going to HD and iPod in a format that is slightly smaller than normal TV, then watching a video from an iPod on an HD TV would look pretty bad (not too noticable on a normal TV the iPod is better quality than a VHS)
Maybe not the nano, but the second revision of the iPod, I want to see the screen to be big enough so that the edges touch the sides, so the video looks like its floating. That'll be really cool to see. And maybe 16:9.
/currently playing: Nine Million Bicycles - Katie Melua
Here's to the Crazy Ones
it had to have a 16:10 screen to stay in proportion but it looks pretty good and practical, your thumb can navigate the wheel and it's small and light enough to hold with one hand in the corner, i dont see any other way to turn a nano into a viable video player.
i take that as a compliment....
Everyone's talking about screen size but don't forget the fact that the nano is apple's "middlewight" if you will. The hard drive isn't large enough at this point to make it practical. Especially the 2GB version. I compressed Rounders the other day and it came to about 500 MB. So if you had a movie or two on there it would take up so much room that you wouldn't have space for music.
Even it it held, say, 100GB?
Nobody will use portable player to watch a full-length movie
But watch movie trailers and music videos is perfect!
and that will not take too much room
2G/4G is enough
Nano is a flash based player. It has no hard drive
What's up with the photoshop skill bashing? Who cares? He/she just wanted to give us an idea of what it would look like.
There you go. A blatant rip off of the nano, with video.
An actual video of the iPod nano rip off:
You'll see why this would be a bad idea.
