By the sounds of it you guys don't use a case. You should if you have a hard time holding your phone. It changes the shape. I have a case on my XS Max and I don't like having it on. Those extra few mm's make my big phone even bigger. But I prefer the sound of my phone hitting the floor in a case over the sound it makes nude. Props to them for the decent glass. Although I do prefer holding my nude phone, its easier to one hand.

It doesn’t change the shape (We’re talking about the same shape with any case, but different textures/materials and overall thickness)., it provides a different variation of a grip with a case. The problem with cases, sometimes it adds too much bulk, which can make it even more cumbersome in the hand. OtterBox would be a good example of that, that’s why I prefer to use Leather portfolio cases which provide a ‘good grip’, but are still thin enough where they are manageable in your hand without feeling you can’t hold the phone comfortably.

This! Is what I feel whenever I read someone talk about cases to change the shape. I mean a squared edged phone ain’t going to have a rounded edged case or vice versa. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Push on your skin.
See how it moves nicely to accommodate your finger?
That’s how the rounded iPhones are in your hand
Grab a brick.
See how it conforms to your skin?
I like rounded edges on a big phone. SE2020 is not a big phone.
