So i tried the Pro Max. It is just not possible for me to enjoy this phone. It feels huge, it is heavy, it doesnt even fit in most pockets.

But it has awesome battery.

Given my needs the iphone 14 Pro was a straightforward deal. That is until i started seeing reports everywhere about worse battery life than iphone 13 pro, the AOD draining battery and generally not very good comments.

So now i am conflicted. I dont want the size of Pro Max but i dont want a poor battery as well. Iphone 13 pro seemed perfect.

Do you guys feel that ios16 optimization and further tweaking of the AOD could get the 14 pro back to where the iphine 13 pro was?

How is your experience going from a 13 pro to 14 pro?

Thanks in advance.

This issue will be resolved by Apple soon. Either 16.0.3 or 16.1 once it’s out.

There is some kind of a battery issue with the 14 pro or pro max.

I am not the only one having this issue. It is not because of the keyboard haptics or AOD.

True, this year the battery life is really not that good I use the pro max)

No battery issues here with a 14 PM. I went 36 hours this past weekend without charging at home. I took a 20 minute drive using GPS and was on my car charger for that time then off charger when I got home. I never got to 20%.
Today I only charged in the car while doing laundry listened to some tunes long phone call got home another long call and I’m at 50%. Started the day at 70-75%.
No haptics AOD always on. Push iCloud email. Auto brightness. iOS 16.0.2.

That’s great battery life. Did you happen to upgrade from the 13 Pro Max?

That sounds like anectodal evidence based on 1 year usage of iPhone 13 Pro using iOS 15, and comparing to 1 month of usage of iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16?

In that case, remember that it’s still 16.0. It will get more stable and battery will improve.

I know it is anecdotal, which is why i am making this thread. I dont know how much ios 16 is at fault here or the A16 bionic being more hungry or the 2,000 nits display or the slightly lower amp battery compared to the 13 pro. The truth is that all of these points seem possible and what worries me is that only ios16 can be worked, since every other factor is hardware and simply cant be changed.

The iPhone 14 Pro's battery is great in my opinion. I was worried that I was going to have to charge it during the day, but it lasts me all day.

I charge my phone every other day because the battery lasts so long ... and that's with fairly frequent use and the Always On Display. I'm definitely not experiencing the battery issues that people are talking about.
