So, I'd like to download older Mac OS X versions, including Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard. Of course, I'd like to do this legally. I have a current free developer account with Apple, but heard if I paid for a Mac account membership, I'd get access to previous Mac OS X versions.

    A few questions:

    a) Snow Leopard, Leopard, Tiger, Panther, Jauger, and Puma are included on the downloads, correct?
    b) How about Server versions? I'm wanting to run Snow Leopard Server in a virtual machine, but must have the server version.
    c) What other tools do I get for signing up for the $99 developer account?

Thanks so much! Not sure if this was the right forum area for this kind of question, but couldn't figure out where to put this.

I believe you have been lead astray.

Developers do not have access to previous versions of OS X.
We have access to Betas ( or the next version of OS X ).

PS: I have only been writing software for Macs (specifically) for about 10 years, so I'm a noob here and could be incorrect. Maybe someone with a little more experience could point us both in the proper direction.

Do you have a paid Developer account? If so, you can sign in, go to Downloads, checkmark OS X, and you should be able to see older Mac OS X versions with their full images for download?

I didn't pay for mine,,, but all i see are downloads for "beta" and Xcode versions.

Paid accounts get to you access to develop and submit apps. and well as training.. and early beta's of latest OS's

These would be before the public gets access to them

Tiger is not available there. There are disk images for 10.5 and 10.6, and many interim beta versions of updates, but not Tiger or anything older. The oldest thing in the OS category is a beta build of the 10.3.9 update.

Ah, really? I'm so disappointed. I was really hoping to be able to download all versions of Mac OS X since Cheetah, and was under the impression that they were all there.

$99 for only Leopard and Snow Leopard barely sounds worth it :\

Out of curiosity, why would you want to do that? I have a good feeling no one is even running Lion anymore.

It's nice to have older versions of Mac OS X running for historical purposes to compare how the OS has evolved, etc.

Is that piracy and illegal to download? :\ Not sure if it is or not, but I'm a bit leery of that.

Who exactly would get upset about downloading a Power operating system. Apple doesn't support it and hasn't in years.

You mean going to Downloads, you are unable to see 10.6 and 10.5, as a paid developer? Go here: http://osxdaily.com/2015/01/26/download-mac-os-x-snow-leopard-from-apple-adc/ and tell me what happens when you click on one of the two links to the ADC (Snow Leopard and Leopard).

That's not Server. Unfortunately, I need Snow Leopard Server to virtualize...Parallels won't accept a non-Server version of Snow Leopard because Apple prohibits it, so a regular SL DVD image won't work. Apple said they're sold out fully of Snow Leopard Server, and it's $19.99 with them, but just shy of $200 with Amazon :\

To be very specific. I am unable to see 10.6 and 10.5. As I stated before, you have been lead astray.

This link is over three years old. In tech years that is 99 years.

They're still there. Go to https://developer.apple.com/download/more/ and search for Leopard and/or 10.5 and 10.6.
    The downloads are called:

    Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard 9A581
Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard build 10A432

So what if it is? In this instance, the so called "pirates" are actually doing a public service by archiving depreciated software that isn't easily available anywhere else.

I don't know where you're (not) looking, but I can definitely see download images for 10.5 and 10.6 on the developer site...

To be absolutely clear, I'm an idiot and failed to click the 'See More Download'. It is in a HUGE font at the bottom of the featured downloads. Again, to be clear. I'm blind, an idiot and a pastrami sandwich.

    Thank you for correcting me.

To further my claim, I'm an idiot. If you trusted my advice, you were lead astray.

    Thank you for correcting me.
