I will be getting a new tat soon, on my foot. I want a sword or dagger with the words the Word of God: Living Powerful Sharper than any two-edged sword

I'm not against having the tat start on my ankle, whatever will make it look best and will accentuate the lines of my ankle and foot.I'd appreciate any ideas. My plan is to go to the tattoo artist who I have been most happy with, and have him draw it for me, but any other input would be very welcome. If anyone feels compelled to help me design it, let me know. I have pics of swords and daggers that I like. And I'm thinking some kind of gothic looking script for the text.

TSE, I can't wait to see what you have done. I'm not the artsy type but really admire the talent.

Hey guys! Got my first basic draft of what I want. I like the shape of the cross and the idea of having a cross behind it, but I really don't think the lines in the inside makes it look good like I thought it would before I drew them. This was just a really fast sketch, took me about 10 minutes to do while watching TV so please don't criticize it being sloppy! :D

Here it goes.

Is it suppose to be anything? If I ever got a tat it would be the kanji in my sig :p But I am phobic of needles so I will never get one of my own accord. Blah blah blah they don't hurt blah blah blah. It's a phobia, by definition it's the irrational fear of something.

Well, my family and I are all catholic and a cross would actually be cool to have.

Oh ok. I was just confused with the X in the background. Don't forget that the Catholic crucifix is different from a cross, it's more † and not so much + meaning the - part is higher on the mast. Not so sure how the symmetrical X would look like behind it.

You might ask your dad if your family has an official crest. A lot of European heritages have them and would be a cool way to support your family.

I am Yugoslavian, German, and Italian. I was thinking about putting the German Iron Cross in the backround instead of the Spaded Cross, and possibly add something with Yugoslavian influence, I think a Catholic cross is enough for the Italian part. ;)

Anything that comes to mind that would work with the cross when you think Yugoslav?

Looks cool. But just so you know, if you have them do that fine-lined herringbone pattern in the middle, about 15 years later, it will all be a faded, uneven grey color filling it in. Unless you're getting the tattoo REALLY big, so that they aren't such fine lines. The 20-year blurring effect on fine lines affects black outlining inks as well, and though there have been some improvements in inks it may only increase longevity by 20-25%. Longevity is definitely something to think about. Also, a tattoo artist may also be uncomfortable with the amount of perfectly straight, parallel lines you're asking for--can you imagine drawing that with a pen, let alone a needle in someone's skin? If they'll even do it, they'll charge you an arm and a leg.

Looks good.. Just wait until 18 and see if you're still into it. If so, then you'll have it for the rest of your life :)

Of course you know that
