I want to stop paying for iCloud on my new iPhone 12 Pro... what will happen to the 20gb of photos that are already on my iCloud account?

I plan to start using only Google Photos to back-up the photos from my iPhone 12 Pro... because I get 200gb of storage on my Google account.

Thanks!

Quick glance I saw this.

Effects of cancellation

We will reduce your storage back to 5 GB and reimburse you no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive your cancellation notice. If you have used more than 5GB of storage during this period, you may not be able to create any more iCloud backups or use certain features until you have reduced your storage.

Once you cancel and turn off iCloud Photos you have 30 days to save all the photos and videos before they are deleted from iCloud permanently.

"Photos and videos are stored in your account for 30 days. To download your photos and videos on your iOS device, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos and select Download and Keep Originals. On your Mac, open Photos, choose Photos > Preferences, then select Download Originals to this Mac. You can also select the photos and videos that you want to download from iCloud.com."

I assume that iCloud is the only service that can truly backup everything on the iPhone? (other than photos)

Or can Google Drive or other services completely back up all the data on iPhones?(again, other than photos)

Thanks! :)

Only iCloud can.
