I was also banned

I cannot believe that forum. I accidently "cross-posted". Geez....an honest mistake. After cross-posting twice, the last one just got me banned permanently. I don't even know what post it was that got me banned, because I can't access the site to read my messages from "SCHEWB". Man, is he a piece of work. There are people on that site that are over-the-top with their posts, but they are in favor with the mods. It just seemed overly harsh and I am not very happy about it. The fact that I can't even respond, is upsetting.

Yea, that sounds a bit harsh. I can understand them *maybe* suspending an account for a week or so, but not permanently.

I dont think I posted an update on my banned account. I ended up contacting the company that owns the Mac-Forums. They are called iNET Interactive. It is the only contact info they have on the bottom of Mac-Forums webpage. I contacted them about 2 weeks ago, and someone replied within a couple of days. He said he would email an admin at Mac-Forums and then contact me. I haven't heard back from anyone yet. I emailed the guy (2) times since then, no response. I explained to the guy that I was shocked to be accused of "spamming" since I am not a spammer. I told him that I could easily create a new account, but I know that is frowned upon by forum admins. I respect the forum community, so I want to try to get this handled the correct way. I also explained that I have been a member for 8 mths before I was suspended. Normally a spammer would create a new account and spam away. What a shame... Needless to say I am upset on how they are handling this. MacRumors is the main Mac forum that I visit now, and everyone here seems to be nice and respectful.

that was my first Mac forum...I just google "Mac site'' or ''mac forum, and I found that.

Then I found MR, and I start here more, and Mac-Forums less, until I removed it from my BookMark Bar

Sometimes people get banned because of perception of the admins. Recently, one good poster here at MR by the name of MultiMedia was banned by admins for the perception of derogatory posts when he made his position perfectly clear. It is regrettable and hopefully the ban will be lifted.

Discussing bans and the reasons for them in a thread is frowned upon, if I understand the forum rules correctly (the highlighting in the following excerpt is mine):

Forum discipline is handled privately. We will not reveal your disciplinary dealings with the moderators to other members, even by private request, unless you give us permission. If you ask us why another member was given a time-out or banned, our answer will always be the same: Members are given warnings or are banned for only one reason -- rules violations -- and they always know the reason.
...

When contacting us about moderation, please identify the posts or threads in question; the moderators deal with many every day. Posting questions/complaints about specific cases of moderation in the forums is frowned upon because they are not relevant to others and we can be more frank communicating in private. If you have general questions about moderation or site policies (not about a specific case), use the Contact form or the Site and Forum Feedback forum.
