i have a linksys wireless router at home, and i hate it. it's connected to my sister's pc, and i use my laptop and my mom uses her ibook to connect to it wirelessly. sometimes i inexplicably lose my connection and have issues getting it back. sometimes it's as simple as resetting the router, other times i've been on the phone with customer support for an hour.

to all you guys who use and like linksys, i'm glad your experiences have been better than mine... but i can't say i would ever recommend their products. just my .02

My two airport expresses work great together, and I have no problem using all of their features with my imac and ibook.

In a mixed network environment, though, I find that they are awful. I had a terrible time having my AE join my D-Link router's wireless network.

If you're using the AE on it's own, and not connecting it to a third party router, everything should go smoothly.

I ordered an Airport Express on Black Friday for $95 with tax. Today in some magazines I saw a Linksys Wireless-G router for $9.99 after tons of rebates. Should I be mad, or just be happy that I will have something great and by Apple shortly?

The Airport Express is more pricey than equivilant 802.11g hardware, but it also is a wireless print server (these can cost around $80) and music streamer (also cost quite a bit), and it's smaller (Linksys sells a "Travel Router" that's the same size as Airport Express, for $100).

Plus, for Mac users, Airport Express is easier to set up.
