I'm currently using an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 10.3.3. It's been a great phone, and I haven't felt the need to upgrade. The latest generation of iPhones have been out for a while now, but yesterday was the first time I've physically held them and spent some time with each model. Before seeing the latest iPhones, I had watched the countless reviews of them on YouTube, and I was leaning towards the XR model because of the great battery life, but I was concerned about the quality of the LCD screen. After seeing all 3 iPhones, these were my thoughts: I turned display brightness to 100% and disabled True Tone. In every instance, I felt the XR looked better than the XS. The overall brightness of the white made text look crisper and easier to read. When viewing the XS, the slightest tilt of the screen gives the display a light blue hue, and it was annoying. The XR still maintains a nice white quality, and seemed to have much better viewing angles. At this point, I would have been sold on the XR, however when you factor in the bezels, the overall width of the screen is slightly narrower than my 7 Plus, making it harder to type fast on. The XS Max has the closest width to the 7 Plus, and was much easier to type fast on. I really like the size of the XS Max, however I prefer the display of the XR. I would love to see Apple make an XR Max! The XR has a great display and the LCD would allow for a longer battery life, compared to these new OLED screens. What else am I missing about these new OLED screens that supposedly make them look better than LCD?
