It would be nice but I wouldn't want it at the cost of battery life and maybe missing a call when it is updating.

I agree with both of you. If it meant I was going to miss a call, or substantially reduced battery life I wouldn't want it. I'm just getting greedy at this point.

One idea was to put the high and low on the button and then have different icons to match the days forcast. That way it only had to sync once and it still gave you some info about the day.

Yes, it's poor UI practice to have some icons update, some not.

The best answer is: they should change any non-updating icons so there's no fake data on it.

Although that's tough for a weather icon. Even the sunshine emblem could be false ;-)

This is EXACTLY what I want...

I wish that if it were raining, my phone could have a rain icon on the front page of my iPhone.

But, that is just me and my small preference 😀

I agree that this should be standardized - no icon should have fake data. They should use real data (like Calendar) or a metaphor//approximation (like Stocks).

Weather should use the current (or last fetched) weather. Clock should be live.

73 and sunny is not far off from the current weather in Los Angeles 😛

Half the time it's somewhere around there when I check the weather.
